The symbolic contrast of Light and Darkness features heavy on this instrument, where bold, natural woodgrain highlights an understated "steeple" design. A little rose engine work at the join of the head and handle adds intrest while still letting the materials tell the story. The sounding block is a perfect compliment to the gavel itself. The finished instrument is quite solid and heavy due to the high density of the materials!
