Model Railway
Like my father and his father before him, I enjoy model railroading and the finer points of the hobby. Most of my equipment has been purchased second-hand, and I enjoy the challenge and the thrill of bringing an otherwise "basket case" piece of equipment back to life and recreating finer details. To me this is not "toy trains", but rather "scale railroad engineering," and I take great pride and pleasure in operating my equipment and sharing the hobby. I think of it as a sort of therapy and vacation away from my usual work, and when all is said and done, it's probably much cheaper than professional therapy.
I model in three primary scales:
- OO (British; same 16.5mm track gauge as HO, 1:76 scale to life)
- HOn3 (Narrow gauge HO scale; 1:87 scale to life, running on 10.5mm gauge track)
- HOn30 (Narrow gauge HO scale; 1:87 scale to life, running on 9mm gauge "N scale" track
The links below will take you to my YouTube channel, where I host videos of my locomotives running. Most of the videos are taken at the Elmhurst Model Railroad Club (EMRRC) in Elmhurst Illinois (www.emrrc.org) which I am a member of. They have a terrific set up, and membership comprises really nice and knowledgable people.

I do buy, sell, and swap model locomotives and equipment, and will also take on custom work requests including DCC and sound fitting, modeling, etc. If you have something for sale you think may interest me, or if you would like to discuss a comission for having work done on a personal model, feel free to contact me.
